Opening on May 19, the Westport Farmers Market, located at 50 Imperial Ave., will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Thursday.

The market will feature 45 vendors, including food trucks, chef demos, yoga, organic eats, children’s programming and a pizza truck.

“This market continues to grow and expand which is a true testament to all the work that goes into this market, and to all the farmers, vendors, and volunteers who make it possible," executive director Lori Cochran-Dougall said.

"It’s become a source of pride for the community, and that’s something truly special.”

Improvements for this year include integrated chef involvement, expanded children’s programming and new Friends of the Market bags, as well as offsite activities and educational events.

On the opening day, there'll be a toast at noon to local food with organic green juice donated by The Stand.

Among the vendors scheduled for this season are Raus Coffee, Local Catch, All Souped Up, Huckleberry Pastries, The Stand, Fort Hill Farm, Riverbank Farm and dozens more.

The Westport Farmers Market is a nonprofit that describes its mission as aiming to "create and maintain a regional hub where real farmers connect with consumers over real food. In facilitating these interactions, the Westport Farmers Market strives to help food producers and food consumers forge lasting relationships."
